Farragut Invests in Digital Networks
CHEVY CHASE, Md. - Farragut Capital Partners, LLC ("Farragut") is pleased to announce the closing of an investment in Digital West Networks, Inc., a leading provider of commercial-grade internet, data, and cloud services to small and mid-sized businesses on California's Central Coast. Farragut invested subordinated debt and preferred equity to support the acquisition of Norcast Communications Corp., adding voice and other capabilities to Digital West's suite of services.
Digital West and Norcast were both founded in the late 1990s and share a home in San Luis Obispo, California, where they have served enterprise customers for nearly twenty years. Former Norcast President Jeff Buckingham has joined as an executive officer of Digital West, which continues to be led by founder and CEO Tim Williams.
"Providing core technology and telephony services in one place, from one trusted provider gives our customers and our region an edge," commented Williams regarding the acquisition. "One of the many benefits of this partnership is that businesses can expect a community-minded, customer-oriented approach they'd never receive from the telecom and cable giants. That's one of the top reasons we chose to join forces with Norcast," said Williams.
"We're excited to partner with Tim, Jeff, Michael Boyer, Sandy Davis, and their colleagues at Digital West," said Rob Hagerty, Principal at Farragut. "Digital West and Norcast are an excellent strategic fit, and together they are in a strong position to capitalize on the demand for greater data services and faster and more reliable business communications."
